Interests

• Star Wars
  I'm a big fan of Star Wars, and not just the movies. I've got quite a collection of books and comics, which I've been compiling into the Reader's Timeline. See the projects section for more.

• Star Wars Roleplaying
  While in Carbondale, I started playing in a local Star Wars RPG game.  I don't play much anymore. You can find out about my past exploits in the Star Wars RPG section.

• Magic: The Gathering
  I started playing in 1994, or thereabouts. I'm more of a collector than a player nowadays.

• Science Fiction and Fantasy & Anime
  I've always been a fan of Science Fiction and Fantasy books and movies. I'm rather picky about what books I read, though. I've been collecting Terry Brooks' Shannara series and Landover series, and Anne McCaffrey's Pern series. I enjoy a variety of Anime programming, but am not an avid collector.
  When I attended SIUC, I joined the SIU Science Fiction and Fantasy Society and was president for 3 years.

• Music
  A friend of mine introduced me to the wonderful world of tracked music or "MODs" around 1995, I guess, and I've been hooked ever since. For those who don't know what a MOD is, it's a digital music file similar to, but much better than MIDIs. MODs can use pretty much any sound sample the author wishes. To listen to MODs you'll need a MOD player of some nature and, of course, a MOD to listen to. You can find an immense collection of MODs at the MOD Archive.

• Eating Contests
  I enjoy eating... as I'm sometimes fond of saying "I didn't get this big by sitting around & doing nothing, there was a lot of eating involved, too." Find out about some of the eating contests I've attempted.
