Entry Four.

As mentioned last time, dawn arrived.  Dakkin was recalled to the Great Temple for reasons unknown and left on his speeder bike.  Brandt washed the dishes, and he and Crysta gathered our gear and buried the fire while I widened the vine path to the newly discovered temple.  The temple appears to be of a rectangular shape.  We made our way slowly up the tall, steep stairs, clearing vines as we went.  Obviously, Brandt was took the longest to climb, not being designed for such travel.  We finally reached the top, where we found a large structure with a door, which we began exploring.

There were obvious noises from within the temple, mostly scratching sounds.  The structure has at least two entrances, one north and one south.  We entered by the south entrance, and found a cross-shaped hallway.  Crysta and Koyi explored the East and West halls while I stood in the direct center and attempted to sense anything through the Force.  I sensed absolutely nothing, not even my friends.  It is my determination on this single attempt that the temple does not possess the Force-focusing powers that other temples are rumored to have.  Crysta and Koyi found patterns in the stone along the walls, which they determined to be doors.

The first room we entered had a rather large snake, resting lazily in the room.  Koyi stunned it and we explored the room.  I found a small hole to the outside, which is obviously how the snake had entered.  The hole also provides access for stintarils, which was evident by the stintaril skulls found in the snake's dung.  We managed to close the double doors to the room and broke for lunch.

We continued explorations after lunch, finding a room that appears by all indications to have been a bedroom.  That room actually had 3 slits for windows to the outside.  We decided this would be a good base of operations.  Kang injured his upper left arm trying to open the bedroom door.  The next door revealed a staircase, spiraling upward to an upper room with columns for walls and a solid ceiling.  There were arches to the East and West, leading to the East and West platforms/roofs.  During these explorations, I looked for but found no writings or inscriptions which might indicate the purpose of this temple.  Koyi climbed a vine to the top of the temple.  As he was coming down, Kang jokingly pulled on the vine, causing Koyi to fall on him.  This restored Crysta's spirits somewhat from the events of last night.

We went back down to the cross-hallway and opened another door, revealing five very large stintarils, which charged us.  I stunned one with my blaster, then killed two more with my lightsaber.  Crysta blew one away as it effectively swallowed her gun and gun-hand.  Its head was still attached to her arm.  I removed the head after the battle was over, and Crysta kept it.  That gun of hers is an impressive weapon.  Kang killed the other one by severing its head with a vibroblade.  Koyi finished off the stunned stintaril.  Koyi and Crysta were both injured during the fight.  We retired to rest in the bedroom.  Kang called the Great Temple and reported on our situation and whereabouts.  Given my performance in combat with the stintarils, I believe that I have restored my confidence in wielding the lightsaber.
